This year’s IWD theme, Give to Gain, reminds us that when we invest in girls, entire communities grow stronger. In Australia, 1 in 4 girls report feeling lonely, 82% say they struggle with confidence, and those in regional, rural and remote areas face some of the highest barriers to mental health support. And with over 75% of all mental illnesses developing before the age of 25, we know that when we focus on prevention together, we create the most meaningful and sustainable change.

That’s why throughout March, we’re inviting you to join the mission of Womn-Kind and help ensure no girl walks through her toughest moments alone. When you Sponsor a Sister, you give a young person access to connection, tools and community - and you gain the knowledge that you’ve changed a life when it mattered most. Because sometimes the smallest act of generosity becomes the turning point in a young person’s world - a reminder that someone out there believes in her, even before she believes in herself.

For $0.27 a day, you can give a young person a lifeline of support - accessible anywhere, anytime she needs it.

Why this matters

〰️

Why this matters 〰️

Behind every statistic is a young person trying to find her way.

  • Most lifelong mental health challenges begin during adolescence and early adulthood. That means timely, early support isn’t just helpful - it’s life-changing. When young people access tools, guidance and connection early on, they build resilience that carries into adulthood and protects their long-term wellbeing.

  • More young people aged 15-24 die by suicide than from any other cause - more than car accidents, illness or violence. This heartbreaking reality shows just how urgently we need early, preventative and community-based support so young people never feel like they have to face their darkest moments alone.

  • Despite being more connected digitally than ever, young people consistently report the highest levels of loneliness in the country. Loneliness is linked to anxiety, depression, school disengagement and declining self-esteem. The right support at the right time can reconnect young people to community, belonging and hope.

  • Body image, friendship dynamics, academic pressure and online comparison have all intensified. Girls today are reporting higher rates of stress and lower confidence than any generation before them. Accessible, relatable wellbeing support helps them navigate these challenges with strength and self-trust - instead of silence and shame.

How would you like your impact to be felt?

Choose who you support

You know your ‘why’. So you can tell us who you’d love to back. Nominate the kind of young person you want your subscription to reach - a regional girl, a young carer, a First Nations young person, a student exploring or affirming their LGBTQIA+ identity, someone navigating anxiety or simply someone who reminds you of you at that age. We’ll make sure your support lands exactly where your heart is pointing.

Leave it in our hands

Trust us to place your gift where it’s needed most. If you’re not sure who to support - or if you simply want your impact to go wherever the need is highest - our expert team will match your gift with a young person who is ready for support. We prioritise girls and gender-diverse young people who are facing barriers to accessing wellbeing tools. You sponsor. We make sure she feels seen, held and backed.

No matter which option you choose, we’ll let you know once the young person has been onboarded to the Womn-Kind App and share how your gift is making a difference.

Every contribution you make creates change we can prove and young people can feel
