Eve Humphrey

She/Her

Eve is a proud 15-year-old Aboriginal (Gomeroi) woman who grew up in Wagga Wagga and is currently attending a boarding school in Sydney for her education. She is a passionate supporter of both AFL and AFLW. She also enjoys playing netball, swimming, and touch football.

Eve strongly believes that no matter who you are or where you come from, you are truly deserving of love and respect. This belief fuels her passion for creating change for those who feel unseen and unheard. It's one of the main reasons she became a Womn-Kind Youth Leader. Living in the country and moving to the city seeing the gaps for support for young people in the country compared to the city has driven her to stand up for the youth in regional and remote country towns who may not get the same accesses as their city peers.

Eve knows that many young people in schools and communities are struggling. Through her journey, including overcoming bullying and the effects that come with that and learning to talk openly about her mental health, she’s become determined to break the stigma that surrounds it. She believes mental health challenges do not define a person, and she advocates for more systems of support, early intervention, and prevention, so young people can feel safe, heard, and valued before reaching a crisis point.

This is why being a womn-kind youth leader is so important to her because their values align with the change she wants to make and who she wants to be as a person, understanding that everyone is worthy of love and support no matter who they are, this is why she is a youth leader for 2025.
