Emilie Hassall
She/Her
Emilie is 21 and living in Sydney which she LOVES - but she can’t forget her country roots. She grew up in a little town called Gilgandra (just past Dubbo) and went to boarding school in the Southern Highlands. She’s currently halfway through her uni degree, Journalism and International Studies at UTS.
Emilie’s favourite thing to do is travel - she took a gap year after school where she worked in England and Scotland and travelled around Europe that - not to be dramatic - CHANGED HER LIFE. Her most recent trip overseas was to Cambodia to help kids learn English, which she learnt so much from as well! When she’s at home, Emilie loves reading, running, playing soccer, learning Spanish on Duolingo, swimming at the beach and going for long walks with her cute little dog Pepper.
Emilie is super passionate about everyone having early access to mental health support, especially for people from the country or in the LGBTQIA+ community. Having lost her mum early in high school, navigating grief and all the typical high-school-related stresses, and later trying to figure out her sexuality, she feels like she now has some good life experience and wisdom under her belt that she would love to share with other young women!
