Womn-Kind National Youth Advisors
Powered by young voices, driving real change.
At Womn-Kind, we believe that young people are not just the future - they’re the leaders of today. The Womn-Kind National Youth Advisory Panel is a dynamic group of young changemakers aged 14-25 who come together regularly to shape the direction of Womn-Kind, amplify the voices of their local communities, advocate bravely and drive meaningful, sustainable, systemic change.
Our National Youth Advisory Panel reflects the richness and resilience of Australia’s young people. Comprising 12 individuals from across the country, it brings together those who identify as LGBTQIA+, live in regional, rural and remote areas, are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, live with a disability, those who have lived experience with a mental illness and more.
Each member’s story is a testament to courage and insight, offering a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities faced by young people today. By weaving these lived experiences into every aspect of our work and advocacy, the panel ensures that Womn-Kind’s services remain relevant, inclusive and deeply impactful - creating pathways for genuine and lasting change.

Meet regularly to share insights into realities facing young people, including:
Barriers to mental health support in regional areas
The need for culturally safe spaces for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, LGBTQIA+ young people and those with lived experience of sexual violence and disability.
Why it matters
Young people deserve to be heard - and at Womn-Kind, they are. By centring their voices, we:
Build services that reflect the true needs and aspirations of young people.
Strengthen connections between generations by involving parents, carers, educators, health professionals, Government and community leaders.
Break down barriers to mental health support and wellbeing in every community.
Challenge the stigma surrounding mental health, sexual violence, disability and marginalisation, creating a culture where young people feel safe, seen and supported.
Create opportunities for young people to shape not only services, but also policies, systems and narratives that impact their futures.
Recognise the power of lived experience as expertise, elevating young people from participants to leaders and decision-makers.
Foster a sense of belonging, resilience and hope by showing young people that their stories and contributions really matter.
Build a legacy of inclusive, equitable leadership that inspires the next generation to believe in their ability to create change.
Demonstrate that authentic co-design isn’t just good practice - it’s essential to building systems that work for everyone.
